Overview
Relief activities and the integrated recovery programme (IRP) under the Pakistan Monsoon Floods Appeal 2010 (MDRPK006) dominated the International Federation of the Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies’ (IFRC) support to the Pakistan Red Crescent Society (PRCS) from 2010 through to the first half of 2013. The year 2013 thus began with continued implementation of activities under the IRP and a slow pace of implementation of activities under the 2013 Development Operational Plan (DOP). However, with the closure of the Floods 2010 appeal in July 2013, priority was given to the activities outlined in the 2013 DOP which articulated a transition from emergency disaster response and recovery to longer term sustainable development. Due to the delayed implementation in 2013, there was insufficient time to complete all the activities scheduled for 2013, and several activities were carried forward to 2014.
Initially drafted in 2011, the LTPF was revised in the third quarter of 2013 to closely reflect the direction of the PRCS revised Plan of Action for 2013-2015
